***Skoglund om Rynos skryt: Tomma tunnor skramlar mest***
Erik Skoglund (24-0, 11 KOs) has hit back at his opponent Ryno Liebenberg (17-2, 12 KOs) for boasting about his street fighting past ahead of their light heavyweight contest on April 23 at the Hovet in Stockholm.
‘’I’m coming to Sweden to kick Skoglund’s ass,’’ said the South African fighter yesterday, before claiming to have been involved in ‘hundreds in street fights’.
Statements that neither scared or impressed the Swedish boxing star.
“Empty vessels make the most noise,” said Skoglund.
“To boast of having been involved in many street fights will not help him once we’re in the ring. I’ve never been involved in one single street fight, but I know better than him how to fight inside the ropes.
“I prefer to be a gentleman in this game. I’m a sportsman, not a trash talker. I respect all my opponents. I know Ryno is a top-level fighter, and by beating him I can prove I’m ready for bigger challenges.
‘’I’m sure he is coming to Sweden to win and I give him credit for that, but I promise his words about kicking my ass on April 23 are going to look stupid when the fight is over!’’
IBF Intercontinental Light Heavyweight Champion Erik Skoglund faces Ryno Liebenberg as part of a blockbuster bill in the Swedish capital on April 23.
