***Former paratrooper Antenucci: “I´m tougher”– Skoglund: “He will crash”***
Alberto Antenucci (3-3) is convinced he will be the first man to beat up-and-coming light heavyweight talent Erik Skoglund (8-0, 4 KOs). The two fighters collide on Saturday night at Team Sauerland´s Nordic Fight Night in Frederikshavn, and the Italian ex-soldier believes he is much tougher than his Swedish opponent. “Skoglund is a decent boxer with good skills,” he said. “But will he be tough enough to deal with a former paratrooper? I don´t think so.”
Skoglund is happy to prove Antenucci wrong. “I have fought and won with a broken jaw,” he stated. “I think that says enough about my toughness. As for Antenucci, I will remind him what it´s like to fall down quickly. But on Saturday, he will not have a parachute when crashing!”
TV10 will show the fight live in Sweden at 21:30. “The Nordic Fight Night is designed to bring titles to Scandinavia,” promoter Nisse Sauerland said. “Erik´s development has been impressive and we are convinced he will follow it up with another spectacular victory over Antenucci.”
Contrary to Skoglund, who is an accomplished amateur, Antenucci did not start boxing before the age of 21. “When I served in the army, boxing was part of our training,” he said. “I enjoyed it so much I continued to visit the gym after I finished my service. It´s a great sport.”
To prepare for Skoglund, he sparred with former WBC Cruiserweight Champion Giacobbe Fragomeni, amongst others. Antenucci is unfazed of taking on an undefeated Swedish youngster in the Nordic region. “I fought (Milan) Kostic in Montenegro, in the heart of the Balkans, do you think I’m scared to fight in Denmark, the homeland of pastries?“
