Idag höll Team Sauerland presskonferens i Danska Kolding och Erik fick för första gången träffa sin motståndare Lolenga Mock.

På Torsdag klockan 12.30 håller Team Sauerland presskonferens inför galan den 19 oktober, med Eriks match om EU titeln på programmet. Erik och hans motståndare Lolenga Mock finns naturligtvis på plats.

Team Sauerland would kindly like to invite you to the kick-off press conference at TRE-FOR Arena to present details for the first-ever Nordic Fight Night in Kolding. On October 19, Lolenga Mock and Erik Skoglund will clash for the vacant EU Light Heavyweight Title, while Kim Poulsen comes face-to-face with Puriya Haidari. Additional fights with Danish and Scandinavian participation will be announced on Thursday.

Erik boxas den 19 oktober om EU titeln. Matchen kommer gå i Danska Kolding.
Det blir Eriks första match över 12 ronder, och det blir mot rutinerat motstånd, på bortaplan.
Motståndaren Danske Lolenga Mock gjorde sin professionella debut två veckor innan Erik föddes och har under sin långa karriär varit EU mästare vid flera tillfällen. Han har gjort 45 professionella matcher och varit uppe mot många stora världsstjärnor, så som tillexempel David Haye och Lucian Bute. Senast han mötte en Svensk så stoppade han Giovanni Alvarez i tredje ronden. Trots sin ålder har Mock hållit sig i fin form och såg imponerande ut när han i februari besegrade tyske Patrick Dobroschi på bortaplan i Tyskland. Mock är en jobbig motståndare som alltid kommer vältränad till match. Han kommer hela tiden framåt och jobbar frenetiskt tills sista ronden är slut. Dessutom är han enormt tuff och har bara varit stoppad en gång under karriären. Det var tio år sedan och mot hårdslående, numera tungviktaren, David Haye och det efter att Haye varit i golvet tidigare under matchen. Detta blir Eriks största utmaning hittills i karriären. Det blir med största sannolikt en tuff drabbning som går alla 12 ronder ut.

***Nordic Fight Night hits Kolding on Oct 19 as Skoglund faces Mock for EU Light Heavyweight Title***

Team Sauerland is delighted to announce that the Nordic Fight Night will hit Kolding on October 19. Koldinghallerne will host the European Union Light Heavyweight Title fight between undefeated Erik Skoglund (17-0, 9 KOs) and Danish veteran Lolenga Mock (31-13-1, 12 KOs) as well as the all-Danish duel between Kim Poulsen (22-1, 6 KOs) and Puriya Haidari (6-0, 3 KOs). “We are thrilled to finally come to Kolding,” promoter Nisse Sauerland said. “The Nordic Fight Night features the very best of Danish, Swedish and Norwegian boxing and we will put together and exciting card at Koldinghallerne.”

The Nordic Fight Night is a revolutionary project to further boost boxing in Scandinavia.
Staged in venues across Denmark, the shows present the biggest stars and most promising boxing talents, with Viasat Denmark, Viasat Norway and Viasat Sweden broadcasting live, as well as numerous TV channels across the globe. “We will put together an exciting card,” Sauerland added. “We expect a big crowd and lots of great fights.”

It will be youth versus experience as Swedish sensation Erik Skoglund, the 22-year-old WBC Youth Light Heavyweight Champion, takes on experienced Lolenga Mock, with the prestigious EU Title at stake. “This is a huge test for Erik,” Sauerland said. “Mock is a accomplished veteran who has been around the block. The winner will be internationally recognized.”

Said Skoglund: “It feels great to fight for the EU Title. It’s a big step in the right direction. I am ready for it. Mock is a tough opponent and he’s been in the game for a long time. I saw his last fight from this year and it was quite impressive. I have to stay on my toes for 12 rounds but if I can do that I know I have the skills to beat him.”

Said Mock: “This is a good fight. Skoglund is a talented boxer, technically very good, but I will beat him.”

Idag höll Team Sauerland ett välbesökt pressmöte i Djurgårdens boxningslokal i Stockholm.
På plats fanns stora delar av svensk press för att träffa Nisse Sauerland och den svenska delen av Team Sauerland, bestående av Erik Skoglund, Oscar Ahlin, Otto Wallin, Anthony Yigit och det senaste tillskottet Klara Svensson.
Mötet inleddes med ett träningspass under ledning av Torsten Schmitz. Sedan blev det tid för individuella intervjuer och fotografering.

Fotograferingen avslutades med ett antal bilder tagna utanför Stockholms Stadshus, i ett strålande sensommarväder.

Nu sitter Erik och hans kollegor på flyget, på väg till Berlin. I morgon bitti börjar Eriks drygt fem veckor långa träningsläger inför matchen om EU titeln den 19 oktober.
